PODOTHERAPY
Podotherapy is a holistic therapy concept that combines physiotherapy with osteopathy and podiatry.
PROCEDURE
-
Anamnesis - a detailed conversation
-
Static / dynamic footprints
-
Gait analysis
-
Examination
-
If necessary, adjustment of soles
This allows the therapist to diagnose a problem's origins, which can be the foot, that can be treated with podiatric soles. Disorders originating “from above” are usually treated with osteopathic and / or physiotherapy techniques.
There are two types of podiatric soles
PROPRIOCEPTIVE THERAPY SOLES
They are thin and very flexible, allowing the retention of a foot's freedom of movement.
The optimal support / activation / relaxation of the foot is found by supporting the foot in certain places with small cork elements and plastic supports, which are between 0.5 - 3mm high.
The aim is to achieve the best possible active stability of the foot and thus to have a harmonizing effect on the body sections above.
The elements are regularly checked and adjusted.
FACILITATING SOLES
These individually adapted soft foam soles guide the physiological rolling process and thus protect the musculoskeletal system from improper strain.
They are mainly used with high loads, such as sports, for very unstable feet ,and for children under 6 years of age.
OFFSETTING / REGULATION
The compulsory health insurances do not pay podiatry soles and diagnostics, but some additional insurances do. Please inquire carefully and, if necessary, obtain 2 prescriptions with the following text:
1. Prescription for: podiatry diagnostics and, if necessary, adjustment of podiatry soles
2. Prescription certificate for therapeutic aids: Podological soles
After consultations at my office, all soles are subsequently handcrafted by an orthopedic technician based on a patient's individual measurements.
