MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

With manual lymphatic drainage, accumulations of fluid (swellings, edema) are removed from the tissue via the lymphatic system using special, very fine massage techniques.

Is the lymphatic system damaged or interrupted, such as after operations, trauma, radiation, etc., the therapist shifts the edema fluid to the nearest functioning lymphatic system and thus reduces the swelling.

To support the lymphatic drainage and to avoid reedematization of the tissue, it is evaluated after treatment bandages or compression stockings are put on.

 APPLICATION AREAS:

  • Edema after lymph node removal

  • Edema after radiation

  • Primary lymphedema

  • Edema / swelling after injury
